Impressive! Have not spotted the ISS myself yet. Sure will give it a try someday. Unusual to have a camera as part of the set-up 🙂 73 de OH2FRM

@twoeyedox I can’t hear that “Beacon Received audio prompt” in my vx8r when it received a APRS beacon.. In APRS menu, “APRS RINGER BCON” is ON but i can’t hear that voice. Can you help me for that problem ? Thank you.

You should check GPS/APRS Set Mode Menu Item #6 (APRS Mute). The value should say “off”. If set “on” the beep tones are muted.

I wrote a comprehensive guide go to and join the Yahoo Group “Work-Sat.” My guide is in the files section titled “QRP to the ISS APRS with the Yaesu VX8 Series.pdf” It will walk you through the whole setup.

    Cool radio ! 🙂
One question, does it have the hypermemory feature ? I love this feature on my 8800 where one can load it’s prefered settings by just on key press… I went through the manual and did not see this features anywhere….
