The beginning of a series of ham radio shack video tours, on this first tour, I pay a visit to Matt Arthur, KA0PQW. More shack tours will be added in the future as time allows.

Finally got my power supply installed and fixed up all the wiring. Finished painting the walls last week, and just finished setting up my desk today. So, everything is set! Come take a look in!

Nice, thanks for the tour. I’m looking at doing something similar as far as the desk layout, and I’m about to buy the 2900. Looks like a good choice for the power supply, so I’m putting that on my list as well. How are you liking the Yaesu? What kind of antenna are you using with it?

@stealth71ch Hi! I’m using an Arrow GP-146/440 which is a 1/4wave dualband ground plane. It is mounted 16ft above ground. I get nothing but excellent signal reports on all repeaters, even the far one about 50miles away. Great sound too, people love the audio quality this rig puts out. This power supply has been amazing, stays cool even after very long QSOs @ 75W and has no RFI either.

I’ve expanded my shack a bit and it is time for a new vid, hihi.

Included with the radio was a fused connector on heavy gauge wire with unterminated ends. I soldered the bare ends to high current lug loops and screwed them on to the power supply terminals.

Great video Matt. Although Im not a ham opperator I do listen to you guys all day. I drive a semi and listen to you on Don’s 145.450 repeater. When I get by Pine Island I lose it then on my way to Owatonna I pick it up on 147.540 I think, it doesnt sound right I’d have to go out to my truck to be sure, or 442.925 which ever one decides to come in. Its nice to put a face to the person thats talking, you are the 2nd one I’ve found. WA6DKS Suzie was the first.
