No. I don’t like modifying most my stuff. Unless its an item that does not
work. Or a mod is required for modern operations. Such as my Icom IC-255A,
which has a mod for a PL tone generator so I can use my local repeater.

I was considering the K3 but the look and feel didn’t do it for me, and all
the options became a bit of a headache to work out what to put inside it.
With the FTDX-3000 there is only 2, relatively low cost options (300Hz
filter and DVS-6 recording module). You can put the saving of a fully
loaded K3 against a ‘3000 and get some antennas with the change!

Beautiful radio. My FT 2000 is up for sale. This rig is in the running to
replace it. Can’t decide if I should go K3 or this rig.

Hi Kevin, you will not be disappointed, Yaesu have made a great radio here
and you don’t need to sell a body part to pay for it. Hope we work on air
soon too sir! 73 DE Mike M0SAZ.
