I have my first rig the Kenwood TM-V71A, and the MFJ 25 amp mightylite power supply. I have been working 2m and 70cm. So far i have had a bunch of fun. I want to work vhf and uhf using a satellite. I am currently studying to take the general test, so i can get an Hf rig. I cant wait to talk on Hf so i am studying hard. — 73 de KE5RLZ

Your video brings back that magical thrill I got using my first rig. Doesn’t seem very long ago! But it was 1990 I think. for me it was a barrowed HW16 HF/CW rig and an Alinco dual band mobile. I’d love to relive those days again anew!

i’ll be testing for my license next month, looks like a nice setup. I dont know what i’m gonna do, live on the 1st floor of a brick apt bldg, guess i’ll ask the guys in the local ham club for advice. Do you have a portable radio that you use? thats probably gonna be the 1st kind of radio i get.

So would you say that the 25 amp power supply is more than sufficient for that radio? Whats the continuous amp power needed for that mobile rig? 73’s. N3NQP
