The Signal Repeater Controller Thing-y
Sorry, I’ve no clue what it does… transmitting and repeat the signals to the next antenna probably.
My friends Don and Brent installed a HAM radio signal repeater antenna at the roof top of an apartment building in St. James Town as a community volunteering project.
Not that I know anything about wireless technologies, I offered whatever little help I could and also photo-documented the installation.

An unmarked Oakland, CA police car, a Ford Police Interceptor, seen near the Ham Radio Outlet store in Oakland. There was evidently an impromptu meeting going on at a nearby restaurant, as there were at least three other Oakland cars in evidence in the surrounding area (I could only get a clear shot of one, next in my photostream…) Taken by a Nikon D40x at ISO 400 with a Sigma 17-70mm ƒ 2.8-4 OS HSM macro lens. (at 38)
Note that the white pickup is a parking slob: he/she is lapped over into the police car’s slot.

Phone Charms

Some of the many phone charm/straps you will find all over Japan. The Hello Kitty ones are particularly collectible as they vary from region to region. There are thousands of these. You can see the Shibuya girl version on the far left.

Starbucks Discoveries
One of the best single serving beverage ideas I have seen in a long time. These Starbucks Discoveries lattes come in a variety of flavors and sell for about at convenience stores. They come with a foil lid under a plastic lid, which allows you to insert a collapsible straw through both layers and not make a mess. This is by far the best flavor–I love this. I wish they sold it in the States.
7-Eleven, Yaesu Mall. Chiyoda, Tokyo.
Kit-Kat (Rilakkuma)

The souvenir box of Kit-Kat that features Rilakkuma is a strawberry milk flavor–I didn’t try it as I’m not a strawberry fan in most cases.

From time to time I sequester myself and make things. There is a very avid subculture of others who do the same, and who (go figure!) peruse my photos of Amateur Radio kits and ham shack foibles with a keen interest. If you do not share this parochial interest, click the word HERE above, or enter my photos through Collections/LIFE.
I wish there was a way I could have a splash screen that would come up at the front of the Flickr experience that would allow radio photos to be toggled ON/OFF. That would be a good add-on for Firefox.

A ham radio, also known as Amateur Radio flea market. There were two other areas as large as this plus a large exhibition hall for retail state-of-the-art
new product presentations and currently available items on display and sale.
Companies such as ICOM, Yaesu, MFJ, Diamond etc… were there as I recall.
