no “Donald Ducks” here. I only have worked A.M. on 160. A few guys in my
neighborhood would work 2 meter A.M. on low power, simplex of course.

Sensitivity is about the same. Other factors make tube radios sound better,
in my opinion, than most solid state receivers. For example, the SP600
establishes its selectivity more gently, and its amplifier circuitry has
    less noise and distortion.

I can smell the tubes and the old vintage speaker paper right through the
screen! I have an old Hallicrafters s-38b that unfortunatly died on me a
few months back, but man, there’s nothing like listening to a real tube
radio and some real radio operators. Nice vid, man!

75M Phone is so cool. I grew up in the 1960s listening daily to Don K4KYV
and Con W4EBG and all the other guys on 75. Although he’s been gone for
years, I can still hear Con’s voice from Paducah in my head. 73s Dave WA4FXT

    I’m a proud new owner of a SP-600 ,I must say,what a joy it is to operate.
Turn out all the lights in the room and gaze into the dials.. The R 390a is
more stable ,but for SWLing it’s the 600. Nice looking shack
