This is capitalist shit. I have Soviet R-250 this is very sensitive RX used
even by russian radio inteligence to track yankee gringos :))
no “Donald Ducks” here. I only have worked A.M. on 160. A few guys in my
neighborhood would work 2 meter A.M. on low power, simplex of course.
I thought about selling my Hammarlund SP-600JX-17. Thanks to you, now I
won’t part with it. 73.
Good work. Great to show the hams-to-be.
Sensitivity is about the same. Other factors make tube radios sound better,
in my opinion, than most solid state receivers. For example, the SP600
establishes its selectivity more gently, and its amplifier circuitry has
less noise and distortion.
I can smell the tubes and the old vintage speaker paper right through the
screen! I have an old Hallicrafters s-38b that unfortunatly died on me a
few months back, but man, there’s nothing like listening to a real tube
radio and some real radio operators. Nice vid, man!
Great and beautyfull. Enjoy the amplitude modulation. Today I was able to
listen USA hamradio station on 3718KHz AM. 73 and enjoy the AM. See also my
AM videos on youtube! I have make 4 videos about the AM USA stations on
80M. Keyword is CT4RK 73 CT4RK Carlos Portugal
75M Phone is so cool. I grew up in the 1960s listening daily to Don K4KYV
and Con W4EBG and all the other guys on 75. Although he’s been gone for
years, I can still hear Con’s voice from Paducah in my head. 73s Dave WA4FXT
I’m a proud new owner of a SP-600 ,I must say,what a joy it is to operate.
Turn out all the lights in the room and gaze into the dials.. The R 390a is
more stable ,but for SWLing it’s the 600. Nice looking shack
I agree with you. The two in tandem provides the ultimate combination of
audio quality, selectivity, and pure boatanchor joy! 73.
people are on here saying how great A.M sounds why dont we all form a net
and give it a try….??? i would love to have a chat on A.M on any band
..A.M certainly does sound great and with a good audio quality too
very nice AM video….well done DAVE (M0OGY) UK.
very nice
love to old radio’s look’s good
Ah,nothing like the warm glow from dial and tubes on a classic rig, keeps
the shack nice and cosy on a cold night, thats amateur radio at its
finest.73 Don VO1XH
After all AM is wonderful!
