    As soon as we saw the flowers me and my YL both said,” Michaels”. Then when you confirmed it we had a good laugh. Great way to get on the air with a stealth antenna. Thanks for posting. We enjoyed it. 73, I’m Steve KC5SAS and she is Tena, KE5ECF.

    In a HOA they sure can. FCC refuses to step in and help out with this issue. The current law only stops governments from keeping you from putting up an antenna. FCC basically says HOA is a private matter and won’t get involved. Unless of course you are a mega corp with big bucks and can higher lobbyists to pass a law to keep HOAs from restricting commercial TV Dishs.
    You can watch Opra… but not help in an emergency with a good Amateur Radio rig.

    Very nice. You’re ‘local’…I’m about an hour n a half NW in Wise county, DFW was once my stomping grounds. I got my HAM license so I could use it for escorting the Ride MS from Frisco to Ft. Worth. But this has me thinking of setting up a base station…(my sole radio is on my motorcycle). Not that I’m in an HOA, but the copper pipe has me thinking…

    Good job and stick it to the effin’ HOA’s. Hitler and HOA’s, both start with an H…the similarities don’t stop there.

    HOA = Home Owners Association

    I think Lincoln said it best,
    “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time…”

    Re 2 above… To someone with experience in amateur radio antennas this would be a true statement. However if you asked the average person on the street they would not know a J pole from one of those dancing poles in a Gentleman’s Club.
