The next antenna some like it and some hate it. I have here also a Sirio Hi Power 4000 and think the new 5000 has a slight edge on the 4000. Made in Italy and can come with different coax if and when you want to drive it hard with more power then choose the other option. Bandwidth is on mine something like 180 channels with good swr and then another 20 or so with the limits of the bandwidth being pushed. It is a heavy antenna and can handle on the power side 1.5kw continuous and 5kw now and then but not solid. Antenna is built fine and is excellent working as the next video here will show.

Simon, I have spoken to a few people who use this antenna or have had this antenna and they all say to me that the Sirio 4000 is better. What are your thoughts on that?

Same for me. I tested side by side with a 4000 and there seemed to be a difference for the 4000 being better than the 5000. Why that is? Do not know but would agree with you

That seems to be what everyone says Simon. I use the Sirio megawatt 4000. keeping in mind I have used many mobile antennas I would have to say that my Sirio 4000 is still the best I have used. My mobile setup is a Magnum S9 and a Sirio MW4000 running from my 13year old Mercedes C250 and with my KL500 linears it gets out very, very well.

Can any one out there help me? when i use my sirio highpower 4000 with a SS3900 +RM KL203 i get rf feeding back into the radio. when i unscrew the 4000 and attach a 1/4 wave tank whip using the sirio base and 3/8 adaptor not a problem.i’ve tried ferrite clamps on the coax and i have 1 1.5 swr but still have rf feeding back into the radio, if someone know’s what’s causing this and more importantly how to cure it please let me know.

So try Sirtel Santiago 1200, President texas,WA27 or Sirio T5000 and than tell us if your Megawatt 4000 is better-i dont think so… All models what i told are better as they making lower noice in speaker. Apart of noice texas and WA27 much better gain.

Sure of course you are right. This was the base i had at the time for the video and not the one that is used now. Better is a sigma eurocomm tri-mag

    Simon,

Are you familiar with the Sirio High Power 4000 PL? If so, will it direct fit a Wilson roof mount base?
