Good ears. Guess my tongue got twisted around. Didn’t hear that on the edit. Must of been the echo in my microphone headphone that caused that flubber. Oh… yes it’s funny. Must of been that bass I fried in the pan last night on my mind. Guess I’m getting old!

It’s always good to laugh at yourself. Don’t see much difference from the 9100 and th Kenwood 2000 but the HUGE PRICE!!!. Also the 7410 and the 746PRO. I’ll pass. I got a 746PRO when they came out and it was junk. Had it one day and it blew. They kept it for 6 months trying to fix it. Sent it back and it blew in 3 more days. Total of 4 days op in 7 months I owned it. Made ICOM buy it back and started a yahoo group on the 746pro with my experiences. man did that start a firestorm.

Thanks! I have the Kenwood 590 right now. It’s sitting on 10 Meters most of time listening for a beacon. Good compact rig. I figured I’d get something up on the 2 ICOM rigs. Went to just video the 7410 but the 9100 had come in via UPS before I got there.

@UnckieBub Oh I bet, We had the same issues with blowing finals in the IC-7800. Two of my friends blew 2 sets each. I didn’t blow any. That started a fire storm on the reflector and the ICOM ploice stepped in, just like in the middle east.

Hi JD, shame they didnt have any vhf antennas hooked upto it Im sure you could have given it a good test for weak signal ops on 2mtrs.
A lot of bells and whistles in both radios You will have to go back when they hook the 9100 upto some decent vhf/uhf antennas and do another test.
Thanks for the video though always enjoy your dx videos.

@markg0nmy Hi Mark, I have ordered one with the 1.2 module. Should be here in 7 days. I’ll get it hooked up here and do some testing. They don’t have any beams down there for 2/432… so stay tuned. We’ll see if it as good as the IC 910H or TS-2000X on those bands. 73

No and I failed to show the sweep scope. You know the one that makes the receiver go quiet while it scans and plots the signals. No They missed the boat again! Dam shame too!

Icom has had a radio similar to this for years… outside the US… check eHam for 4-pages of (all non-US) reviews, going back to 2002. Search the partial link above for the page… can’t post full link here!

So what’s the verdict on the 7410? I’m from California but I bought my first radio from Bill at Associate last Christmas! A Yaesu FT-60. Great store/staff!

Nice rig. Has roofing filters, but not much different from the rest of the Pro or 746 series. Price is okay for about 40% of the masses. DSP is excellant. If I was in the market now I’d buy one as a first rig.

@jdizzy47 @jdizzy47 You know the colour screen is the future these radios are good but…..the old mono chrome screen has done them no justice what so ever they look old school like 7400/746 and they will not sell so many and considering the price tags in the UK and the recession were all in Icom Yaesu Kenwood need to rethink their Retail prices to the real hard working person out in the real world.

Also Like i said my old Pro3 secondhand is worth more then a new 7410 at the minute and the Pro in my eyes is still the better radio i cannot wait while Wouxun starts to make HF sets that will put the jitters up the big boys!
