What is SSB?
this radio would be great if it had single side band capability also cw and fm
all this is just over rating on a frequency meter and reface on an old traditional
radio.
CW & FM is export crap. all cobra needs to do is make this same radio and add SIDEBAND.
not so bad…
my only complaint(s) is the touchy SWR antenna warnings, even though I know my SWR is correct, as well as the Talk Back feature is not good… But other than that I love mine!

Thats a shame,here in Australia no one uses Am anymore,and there are not that many people left on sideband,a lot of people went over to UHF repeater,and left 27 Mhz,27 Mhz can be hit and miss,but once propagation come`s you can talk all over the world,i know that AM is still big in the States,just wish more people would see the benefits of 27 Mhz as opposed to UHF……

Yes it does.

does it have ssb?
Buy a Wison 1000 antenna. With the help of a friend you can tune the antenna. Afirestick is hard to tune. Also an atenna tuner or watt meter should have two needles Forward power and reflected so you know how much power is actually being reflected back into your coax. Make sure your coax is not coild under your seat or pnched at the door or kinked. Lasty make sure all your doors are closed when checking the swr.
