i live under 15 meters from a palm tree/tower my rssi is -44 and my cirn is
at -34 my speeds are hiting about 1.5mbs download average my latency is
always above 145, could it be because im the second floor of my house? the
highest score ive gotten is 12mbps but that was only the first day i
recieved the clear hub express, is there any way i could improve
latency?…. thank you for the information above, you have given me better
information than most people who work at clear can!

I would expect better RSSI/CINR scores so close to the CLEAR Tower Site. It
is possible that the signal from the site is actually passing over you.
What your modem may be receiving is multiple reflected images of the signal
that has been reflected back towards you. That may be the reason for the
latency/bandwidth issues. A small directional antenna placed directly in
the path of the signal should help the modem’s WiMAX MIMO DSP by minimizing
the influence of the multiple reflected signals.

Unfortunately, the stronger connection provided by any signal enhancement
cannot guarantee any particular amount of bandwidth or latency. That is a
function of the capacity of the particular WiMAX Base Transceiver Station
(BTS) you are connected to relative to the network traffic on that
particular BTS. As well as how your individual connection to CLEAR may be
affected by the CLEAR Acceptable Use Policy.

This video was done to prove that our Hi4G antennas actually provide a
positive amount of signal gain even when the Hub Express is located in the
same reception area as the antenna(s). If the modem were located DEEP
inside the apartment there would be very low signal. I do have another
video that shows the modem located inside the apartment right behind the
sliding glass doors that lead out to the balcony area. See my other video
entitled “14dBi WiMAX antenna for the CLEAR Hub Express”.

The $49.99/mo “4G Internet Plan” will show as Unlimited data with download
speeds of up to 6.0 Mbps (1.0 Mbps upload). My experience has been that the
download speed is not truly throttled. But the upload speed IS throttled at
1.0 Mbps for Home devices/1.5 Mbps for Mobile devices). The use of our
antennas may greatly enhance your 4G WiMAX Signal RSSI/CINR readings
thereby giving you the potential of better performance. But the stronger
signal cannot guarantee any particular amount of bandwidth.

This demo sucks. You already have an awesome connection without the
external antenna. I have an RSSI that ranges from -85 to -99 dBm with a 14
dBi antenna and my CINR ranges from -1 to 7. I’d like to know if an 18 dBi
or better antenna would help me. Also, your RSSI and CINR seem to be very
constant while mine varies by a huge amount so I had to write a script to
collect the values from the modem every second and then average them over
an hour so figure out the best direction for the antenna.

I HAVE A QUICK QUESTION… I JUST BOUGHT A CLEAR HUB EXPRESS AND WEN I
BOUGHT I WEN ONLINE TO MY ACCOUNT AND IT SAYS THAT MY DOWLOAD SPEED IS SET
TO 6mbps SO IF I BUY THIS ANTENNA IT WOULDNT MAKE IT ANY FASTER? ITS LOCKED
    AT 6?

Hi Billy, thanks. We saw the news about the hurricane over there (May
2013), Man our hearts go out to the folks who lost their loved ones, I know
that I bang on about the way the wind is always blowing here but I can’t
imagine what it’s like to experience the sort of devastation and
destruction you get over there. So, I think everyone would join me in
saying, ‘We hope for peace for you and the families in Oklahoma my friend.’

Hi Rick, as you’ll have seen from my videos I have a very modest setup here
but I thought at least I’d better put my best foot forward and check out
the beam. I haven’t contacted Dave yet but I’ll see if I can set up a
schedule with him at some mutually convenient time and I’ll see if I can
video the QSO. We have a Bank Holiday here this weekend and during the
holidays I always leave the airways to the guys that have to work for a
living. Kind Regards … Andy GWØJXM

Seeing this makes me want to drag out the old radios, My Antron 99 is still
up on the tower, just never have time to play with it…. Nice job on the

Hey Andy, Dave has been having a lot of fun with his new set up. He says he
is getting some rather strong reports all around the world. Dave has been
in broadcasting for ever and also Amateur Radio. I was just at his place
and he has picked up another dog, so now there’s four. It can be quite a
challenge getting through the gate without one of them getting out of the
    gate. Best regards, Rick

Hi there, well thank you for your concern, all’s well with me but it’s been
a while since I’ve had the time to make videos and there are so many things
I want to be getting on with. I’ve got a load of ideas for my HHO
experiments and other hobbies that have been a bit neglected, man I’ll
never be bored, just short of time. Kind Regards … Andy

Hi Neal, I have all sorts of hobbies but radio and electronics are probably
my real love, I’ll be getting back on the HHO project soon I hope but I’m
just catching up on some other projects as I need to clear my mind of
things that I’ve promised myself I’d do. I don’t have the space for a
proper tower; I figure I’d want enough space so that if it fell over it’d
be within my own boundaries. All the best… Andy GWØJXM
