Thank you for the great review. The iCom is an excellent device for streaming audio from my computer and cell phone directly to my hearing aids via bluetooth. However, I have received complaints from the people who I am calling that my voice sounds distorted and echoey when I use my iCom with my cell phone. Have you had anyone else have this same problem and is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, there are no controls for sound quality. However, if you do hold the icom so that the top of the icom (the part with the loops connecting to the device) is pointed towards your mouth, this should help. Hold it about 8-10 inches from your mouth.
i have it
@HearingAidDocs … i have icom i used it for my blackbery cellphone and i canoot hear very well when people talking in the cellphone . . . do i need choclear implant ?
You may want to first see if you can have the program for your iCom turned up.
Your audiologist would be the one to talk with regarding candidacy for a cochlear implant. If they do not know anything you can have them refer you to someone who does, maybe an ear, nose, and throat doctor in the area. If you need some help finding an cochlear implant audiologist we’ll do our best to find you someone in your area. Good Luck!
For another good one,
type in prestonchao in the search box and it’s the first one on the result list
i found one of these inn my house but its only the square thing and the necklace thingyy?? about how much is that worth or wats needed?
I like your “okay” 🙂
Have you considered the Icom IC-7000? It gives you the same digital filtering you are used to on the 756. With the 897, it uses traditional mechanical filters. It only holds two and they cost a small fortune each. So why have that when the 7000 lets you create dyanmic digital filters in software that operate as well or better then mechanical filters?
I bought a Flex 5000A, the best
Ill give you 5 bucks for it because I am a cheap ham.
Aren’t you the kid that I talked to that sounded intelligent and now you make a dumb ass comment like the above?
ha cool!! it even displays the time!
i wouldnt sell that if i were you but hay its not my decision
i also think you should make more videos like this 1 … maybe show that other radio of yours
73
I have, see my Flex, AL-811 videos
good radeo icom 756proIII
think you
You said, “The name is Burt.” I thought that was one of your complaints about most hams.
Where in the video did I say that?
At 1:40 in this video, you say “The name is Burt.” In one of your other videos, either “Ham Radio, A Critical Evaluation” or “The Truth Revealed about Ham Radio” (don’t feel like watching them again) you made the comment about the impersonal nature of most ham radio operators, citing the use of “The name is ___” instead of saying “My name is ___.”
You are wrong, the word “The” is NOT used
hi hi. touche.
Have you noticed any DSP artifacts (crackles, pops, distortion, etc.) on CW receive? Especially in ‘filter 1’ mode?
No, but I also sold it
i would love to have skill on radio like you
Nice review thank’s
I keep thinking he is saying Encom, my love of Tron is dear.
He says “name is burt” not The name is. The human brain adds extra words when and where it wants to.
So Burt if the Flex wasn’t out there would you hazard to say it’s the best base HF rig you have owned (realize that’s a loaded question)? I have a 746 Pro and it’s now in repairs a second time for the “sudden death” xmit issue. Frankly I am reluctant to hook the damn thing up again. Any thoughts?
You are saying if there was no Flex would I say it is the best rig I ever owned? I could I say that if there was no Flex?
Never mind Burt, thought you could give me answer without being condescending, my mistake.
