Important things are happening at Wilson High School’s Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Club. We live in an earthquake zone where emergency response procedures should be practiced regularly and I am happy to report the Wilson AREC Club members have stepped up to the plate. The club meets every Wednesday from 3 pm to 4 pm in the room of their vigilant leader and mentor, Devon Day. What is the purpose of collecting call signs? Also how could I learn more about HAM radios? I want to get my license but I don’t know where to start and after I get my license I might not know what to do with connecting to repeaters or how to use them. Do you know of a good community I could become part of or maybe a group that I could learn from?
