How to use tools you may already have to make low cost, effective antenna coil clips that are easy to adjust.

In Part 2 I have connected 6 radials to the DX Engineering radial plate under the Hustler 4BTV vertical antenna. I show how to make a solid connection, and demonstrate how to pin the ground radial wires in place. As a Short Wave Listener, I enjoy decoding signals in various modes. RadioTeletype is by no means a new mode, its been with us for ages – some might even say they are surprised its still in commercial use. This video shows the reception and decoding of RTTY (pronounced Ritty) from DDH7, part of the German Weather Service, Deutscher Wetterdienst, in Hamburg. The signal is 50 Baud/450 Hz The radio is a Kenwood R5000, and the software is MultiPSK. Follow the link for more information : en.wikipedia.org

Demonstrating some of the CW features that differ from the Icom 706. I forgot to include the CW pitch adjustment. It It differs from the 706 in that it’s not a linear adjustment. The options are 400, 500, 600, 700 or 800 hz. I like it about 500 and that’s where it’s set in the video. This radio will transmit a very loud rushing air sound when you key the mic in SSB. I was getting reports that my snap on choke helped and engaging the DSP filters seemed to take most of it out. I used a monitor radio the other day and it’s still pretty bad. I’m going to call Yaesu about it because it’s REALLY BAD! I also put a RF choke on the HF feedline into the back of the radio and that didn’t help at all. PS, I was wrong about the CW Auto feature. That controls whether the the key jack is enabled or disabled in SSB or FM modes. Show romanization وأرى أن هذا هو يوم 3tv العربية. مرحبا إلى أي من اخوتي في الشرق الأوسط. انها كل العالم
