Larry, love your videos. May I inquire. With all of the knowledge , gear and resources, why have you not gone with a lapel mic, or FM Wireless Mic and lose that Hand Held Mic. It has to drive you nuts!! I await your response to the challenge !! LOL
Make me proud. Take Care, and if on the East Coast, get ready for Sandy!! Have a great weekend Buddy.

Great video, as usual, Larry. I didn’t know that you have a beacon of your own. I’ll load the frequency into the memory of one of my radios and, hopefully, one day I’ll hear it in England and make a quick video for Youtube!

Thanks and you are right about the hand held mic, I do need to get a lapel or wireless maybe, would make things a lot easier I guess, just got kind of used to the hand held mic I guess, lol. I think I have a lapel or 2 around here but I might need to repair the wires on them before they will work without cutting out.

It sends out a Morse code ID over an over 24/7 and then if someone in another state or country hears it, they know that band is capable of communications from their area to my state, gives them a heads up and then they know they might be able to contact someone on a nearby frequency from my area. Beacons on the air all over the world for this purpose, lets others know how the propagation is doing by the atmosphere. My beacon was heard in Holland and Germany recently, showing good conditions.
