How would it feel to be a member of a dedicated group of people ranging in ages from 8 through 85 who have been responsible for the leading communication inventions in the past 100 years, which includes: radio, TV, FAX, satellite, cell phones, and FTP protocol?

The California Yacht Club, located at 4469 Admiralty Way in the Marina Del Rey, is sponsoring its fifteenth annual Amateur radio license class on the weekend of October 10 and 11, 2009. This course is open to anyone who is interested in joining this exciting hobby.    The class will begin on Saturday, October 10 at 9 A.M. and end on Sunday at 5 P.M. No background in electronics is needed and the California Yacht Club starts from the very first page. Students enrolled in the course can earn the Technician & General Amateur license in only two, exciting days.

The Amateur License opens the door to free e-mails while cruising, weather faxes from NOAA, and offers a free gateway to making new friends around the world. HAM radio includes everyone, beginning with a student interested in computers, educated professionals, and finally a house wife who passed the test for the reason of family protection.    

The class will be taught by Charles Pascal, WB6CIY, a licensed amateur & certified teacher. Charlie has taught over 5,000 students in the past 25 years to pass the Amateur exam on the first attempt. Testing will be provided at the same location where the class was taught. The price for the class is $ 100 per license plus an additional $ 12 for the text book, which can be downloaded from http://www.myhamteacheronline.com .
