The DAIWA Model CNW-518 is rated @ 2.5 kW RF PEP output for the Ham Bands of 3.5 to 30 mHz. This antenna tuner has be modified to include some of the out of band frequency in the upper bands from 20 meters to 10 meters. This mode was probably made for MARS operation. This mode does not include 11 meters. This video clip shows tuning the tuner into a Cushcraft R5 vertical antenna (20 to 10 meters coverage) The RF is being supplied by an Yaesu FT-890 Transceiver.

Here is a creation built by Dave – VO1TTU nearly 10years ago, and it works just as good today as the day the tuner was built.

Great video! I did get my Novice when I was 9, and am almost 60 now. My first Transmitter was a 50C5 tube with a 50 volt fil voltage and a regen receiver ” Band Spanner”. So seeing that there are other people like me that still build things is great. 73s OM! Jimmy, ARRL TS, WX9DX
