Congrats !!

She is going to make a great ambassador for amateur radio. However, she is being trained, if you may, to use a very poor phontic vocabulary. “Radio Norway” should be ‘Whiskey 7, Romeo November’ Contesting is fun, but does not further some if the serious side of radio…that of emergency communications. Bastardized phonetics are not permitted in ARES/RACES/ICS communications and classes.
Other than that, VERY GOOD K7KTI!! Keep up the great work and have fun
Radio Norway…..
1 We are Norwegian 🙂
2 Norway is actually more recognizable in several languages
Thank-you

– I disagree. “Radio” and “Norway” are much easier to understand by non-English speakers. The purpose of phonetics is to unambiguously communicate specific letters. It does no good to use phonetics that are not understood by the receiving party. Especially in DXing, use phonetics with the widest possible comprehension across languages. If this was a domestic emergency communications exercise, I agree that Romeo (or Radio) and November would be correct.
Congratulations Kati, great job indeed! I’m always happy to see young folks getting into the ham world. Hope to meet you on air.

Great job Kati!!
Good comment EXCEPT for the lecture!
The child is adorable but she is a puppet, you pull her strings. Radio Norway is just fine however
I say radio norway. It is just how I say it. I have a lot of fun here, I try my best and I hope more kids will join radio. I love vollunteering, contests, and making newe contacts.

I disagree. I’m K7KTI and I love coming to contests, volunteering, or just making a new contact. I didn’t even know that the camera was on. I thought my dad just put it there so he didn’t have to carry it around.

My deepest apologies dear child. I did not think you were licensed. I thought you were using your Dad’s call. My daughter got licensed at age 8, she now lives in Asia at age 30.
I predict success for you
