Sounds to me this is pactor-III on the shortwave marine channels. “WXworx
on water” is a company that offers that service (for way too much money of
course). What the user does not seem to realize is that he could do the
same for free on the Winlink2000 network (send/receive emails and get
weather reports) and with many more land-based nodes than this WXworx seems
to have. All it needs is a ham license but now that the morse requirement
is gone for hams, that is very easy to get.
