I bet a lighter weight rotor would do a fine job from the basement on that dipole.
Field day should be fun, I am hoping to attend field day with our local club for the first time in probably 15 years. It has been a while for me as well.
What kind of bandwidth do you get with your hamstick dipoles? I made one with 2 Workman WHF 40’s and have a decent SWR over about 30 kHz. My 4nec2 model confirms that result on Modeling Commercial Antennas on my qsl.net site. It is a convenient compact antenna but works efficiently only over a narrow band of frequencies.
