Complete psk31 contact with Ukraine, no edits.
Showing FLDIGI in Linux, using Yaesu ft-847, Donner Interface cable, 20 meter psk31 short qso contact from California to Ukraine almost 6200 miles away from me. Using a 40m Horizontal delta loop, about 10 feet high. (131 feet long). Using a homebrew aircore Balun which is about 2.5 to 1. and about 70 watts of power. Thanks to the great videos by K7AGE on how to get started with PSK31.. I loved the simple microphone receive only video that he did…Nice!! Easily understood, easily duplicated and certainly made me want to work this mode and transmit too! I have had many contacts on 5 watts, normally I start low and work up..but in this case, to get a video in 1 shot, I cranked up to about 70 watts, however, it most likely wasn’t necessary to be that high…just an fyi I have been ‘cross the ocean on 10 watts many times when the bands are open. Yes, you can hear my cat in the background…I guess he thinks I am talking to him..LOL 73 from AG6IF

KC2WQW’s HF setup
Some of my friends were asking for pictures of my HF antenna and my ham shack so I decided to make a video of it since I haven’t uploaded anything to youtube in a while. The rig is a Kenwood TS-120S 100watt radio and the antenna is a full wave 40m loop configured for vertical polarization. UPDATE: Since this video has been posted I hooked up an external 4:1 voltage balun and now it works 80m – 10m no problem. Now to set something up for 160m, 6m, 2m, and maybe either 1.25m or 70cm. 🙂
As test antenna was measured at 22 foot linear using a piece of triple #22 AWG conductor zip cord commonly used for older home intercom by Nutone. The base feed was run 11 feet up on an outside conductor, then returns 11 feet down on the center conductor back to the base and is connected to the other outside conductor that is the full 22 feet long.

Thunderpole Super-Flexi 2ft CB antenna – review and install
A video about the 2ft Thundepole Super-Flexi – a compact wound antenna that seems to work well for the size. Took some finite tuning to get the SWR down, but got there eventually. Being a short antenna, it’ll only cover about 40ch and the video shows the importance of checking the SWR even if the antenna is claimed to be pre-tuned. £10 plus delivery from Thunderpole and Thunderpole stockists – 3ft and 4ft versions also available.

Everyone Can Enjoy DXing
In just over 2 years of being a ham, the one thing I’ve found that I can do for hours on end without getting bored is DXing.
I’ve found that some hams think DXing is too hard, QSLing too expensive or that they don’t have the right equipment. DXing is something that everyone can enjoy and nobody says that you have to QSL to be a DXer. Some DXers I’ve spoken with have logged over 200 countries but…

The Cell Phone Jammer Story WHY do people use cell phone jammers? – Stop Obnoxious Cell Phone Abusers – Block Covert Eavesdroppers – Prevent Secret Tracking – Disable Cell Phone Triggered Explosives (IEDs) HOW do cell phone jammers really jam cell phones? Testing a Real Cell Phone Jammer 1) The Setup includes: – High-powered Spectrum Analyzer scans defined frequency ranges. – We used Tektronix’s robust SA2600. – Spectrum Analyzer configured to monitor cellular frequency 1800MHz, with span intervals of 20MHz. – Active cellular use detected within proximity. – 1933key’s 30m Cell Jammer (J15P01B) test application. 2) Turn ON Jammer. Watch spectrum analyzer signals burst, dwarfing all cell signals in the frequency range. 3) Witness EFFECTIVE cellular interference. Handsets and cell phones receive error messages such as No Signal, No Service or No Network Service. Cellular silence and anti-IED protection achieved. 4) Turn OFF Jammer. Watch spectrum analyzer signals normalize. By effectively knocking out cell phone signals, 1933key’s jammers help provide both protection & privacy. With 1933key’s 30m Cell Jammer (J15P01B), you see for yourself HOW Do Cell Phone Jammers ACTUALLY Jam Cell Phones to eliminate cellular intrusions and threats. By multiplying signals across target frequency ranges used by cell phones (handsets), 1933key cell phone jammers effectively disrupt signals to and from broadcasting base stations. The signals are not really “lost” or “absent”, but rather …
