Here at Whisky – zero – echo-echo-echo we know plenty about echos. This is one I recorded during the ARRL 10 meter contest from K9CT. You can hear his signal echo back from hundreds of places, via backscatter. Check out his superstation channel at www.youtube.com It’s pretty amazing. A literal farm of aluminum.

I’d say the echo is way to long to be backscatter, so I would say that it’s multipath as well.
cool video! i was at k9ct for arrl 10, didn’t we work on sunday? i remember the dit dit dit!
@kb9uwu I don’t have it in the log, so hmmm. I tried many more times than this at different times of day, but couldn’t make it..I also heard you guys on groundwave on the first night.
Maybe I’m thinking of w6eee… Sorry we didn’t hear you!
@kb9uwu No biggie — I did work an IL station for the mult…my favorite was working my own state — that’s an achievement on 10 meters. The cw was fluttery somewhat like auroral propagation, but was clearly multipath. It was fun!!
hey im a fellow young ham as well, just fyi, well sort of young, guess 26 is getting up there haha. got into hf at 13 or 14yrs old. i was qrt for about 7 years until recently, we should have some fun this solar cycle!
Sounds like back scatter to me, not long path.
