    The PMR you were asked about is PMR446, it is an EU allocation it has roughly the same use as FRS or GMRS in the United States and Canada.

    hi mate yeah the PX-888 is a good rig – i am a firey and have used one and found it to be tough enough for the job

    one question though i understand that the PX-888 is a dual bander ????
    i did not know you could buy vhf or uhf only versions

    Hi,
    the px888 versions I’ve seen on ebay have been only a single band but with slight variations in the uhf models.
    134-176 for vhf and a 400-470 and 400-480 in uhf. I had a 400-470 and sold in in favour of the 400-480. This way I have coverage of the Australian UHF Cb frequencies around 477. Coupled with a small mag mount antenna, speaker mic and a battery eliminator pack I have coverage for Cb in the car where my ham radio rigs wont transmit.

    Great video. Look forward to more. I have three UV 3R’s and these work very well with the Nagoya 771. Might get the Mark II as well. My boys use these easily for PMR446 in the UK. I will be interested in seeing how they work for you out and about. They are small and very pocketable indeed.

    the 446 thing is pmr446 which is a license free band in europe. The frequency you are talking about is 446.00625 so it would need 6.25k steps to use that

    @radiosification Thanks for the info.
    I was just confirming it is possible on the HT for others. To have the info listed in the comments because it is not in the video.
    I checked it on the HT when you posted your reply as I wasn’t sure what it was previously.
    thanks for your input.

    @bradkaos if you are scanning in memory mode and have the tones ctcss for eg programed in for that specific memory than they will apply during scan mode.
    The icom, yaesu and I think the puxing will scan for a tone on a specific frequency or memory position if you don’t know the tone being used.You will need someone to be transmitting though to scan for the tone. I don’t believe though that you can apply a tone scan and a frequency or memory scan at the same time.
