I am sorry to inform everyone that Aisea 3D2AA passed away unexpectedly in Fiji, but I and those who knew him will remember his keen enthusiasm for amateur radio and his unerring good humour. He will be sorely missed. Aisea 3D2AA sk.

Sad to hear that. Seems that the seasoned hams are dying, and then replaced by hams like me, who take a few tests and next thing you know, we hold the same license. I try to live up to what I think the license means to me, knowing as much as I can, understanding everything that I encounter, helping out others, and trying to keep certain aspects of amateur radio alive (like Morse code). Hams of yesteryear had it harder than we do today and that made it extra special I think.

Thank you for the comment, yes times have changed, but from your comments I think you have the ham heart which was beating in others of times past.
I think ham radio’s future is in good hands.
Thanks again and 73s from Sydney – Rob.

pretty fancy rig. I stopped in from a Flickr link because the pic reminded me of my Grandad – was hoping to hear some squelch and yammering Kiwi’s like I used to hear belching out of his set…. I was pretty young, but I’m pretty sure he used to be VE74AD -any way, have fun Ham Radio was social before the internet 🙂
