There are new developments on this project. I am making the software available and the hardware version is finished and available. Go to home.comcast.net for more details The FT-736R is a great old radio, but it does not fit the Ham Radio Deluxe model for interfacing. This video shows the use of emulating software that makes HRD believe it is controlling an FT-847. The information in the emulator registers is used in turn to send data to to the FT-736. My intent is to eventually implement the emulator in a small microcontroller that goes in line between between the 736 and the serial port controlled by HRD. 73 DE KA6BFB
This is AWESOME…will you be selling this solution for those of us that use this rig? I have been trying to get HRD to support the 736R for a LONG time. I’m a PAYING customer 😉
Nice!! job. I have the FT767GX that I’d like to get to work with HRD. Do you know if this is possible??
Have you had any experience with the cat system on a ft-757gxii. I can not get it to talk to any software
I don’t own a 757 or a 767. I do own an old Icom 720A though and I am planning to do the same thing
Outstanding job Dave! I was disappointed that HRD didn’t support the 736 and your solution was the best, hands down! Thank you! for making it easy to use HRD with my 736.
I have one.Great rig. Tnx & 73, N9SMJ
