This is my new temporary QTH at Tampere (south-west Finland). I am testing a mobile whip that’s on the window cell. The square-shaped magnetic mount fits like a glove and holds like glue. 20m/10m/2m/70cm/23cm all on the same antenna. I was suprised to hear strong signals on 20 meters, the whip is only 1m long! So apartment dwellers, use your window cells!

How long is that fishing pole. I can only find 10 meter/31 foot lenghts. Can some one tell me where to find 16 meter/52 foot fiberglass fishing poles??? Great video but would have loved to see it in operation.

    Thanks,

Nice station set up! The antenna performs great on receive by the sounds of it. And your ham shack has a view — very nice bonus!
    Good Dx OM.

The “casual code” is ok on 11m. I jumped straight to ham radio. I do like the “beacon”-function of 11m. High five to all radio hobbyists…

I prefer 1500 legal watts over 5 watts. Not that I run that high or that power is anything 😉

I use a somewhat similar setup. I have a 3 meter whip tuned with a coil and variable capacitor .I often hear russian stations 1500+ Kms from here Budapest, Hungary. I once made a contact with a russian station 1470 Kms far with an SW40 radio on my side that runs on 2 Watts 🙂 Apartment shortwave is definitely a hard genre, but still fun 🙂
