This is a video of me working a nice, high pass of AO-27 from my backyard from the boundary of EM92 and EM91. My set up is a Yaesu VX-6R and handheld dual band Arrow antenna. Since becoming a ham, working satellites is by far my favorite facet of the hobby. I work every pass that I can so if you hear me on the FM sats, give me a shout! KJ4PSU

The Arrow Antenna OSJ 146/440 J-Pole is an inexpensive dual-band antenna that has been working wonders with my hand-held Yaesu FT-60R as well as my mobile Yaesu FT-5100 that I use as a base station.

This video shows me, OZ9AEC, testing the Arrow Antenna shortly after I have received it using the AO-27 amateur radio satellite. I was using my Yaesu FT-817ND transceiver. Many good voice contacts and some packet (AO-27 telemetry?) at the end until the satellite goes offline. More info about the arrow antennas: www.arrowantennas.com

Arrow Antenna

Arrow Antenna pulls in both superior radio reception AND plenty of double takes! Instantly replaces your vehicle’s signal receiver! Attention-getting Arrow Antenna is a real fiberglass, camouflage-patterned arrow, but you don’t want to put this one on your bow. The housing contains a universal AM / FM radio receiver antenna that directly swaps out with the stock antenna on your car or truck! It’s designed to work just as well as the original, but with an outdoor flair you won’t find anywhere els
