HF Airplane Tracking HFDL with MultiPSK & HFDisplay

Using SDR# with the RTL-SDR, but the MultiPSK RTLSDR Key setting will allow you to connect directly. I haven’t found yet how to set the Ham-It-Up converter offset in MultiPSK RTLSDR config, but the results should be similar.

Receiving Spanish DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) radio, transmitted from Noblejas, Spain. DRM is digital shortwave radio.

Received from Auckland, New Zealand. Using the nooelec “Ham It Up v1.0” upconverter circuit, an R820T RTL2832 RTL SDR tv dongle with a random wire antenna about 15m long.

Used SDR Sharp as the software radio and DREAM as the DRM decoder.

RTL SDR is a low cost software defined radio. The RTL SDR dongle can be purchased from http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009U7WZCA/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B009U7WZCA&linkCode=as2&tag=youtube0ae9-20&linkId=RR5VUVIXLMIB43M

please ,can you explain in details how to use DRM decoder? I’m using the
same R820T RTL2832 RTL SDR tv dongle and software, but I don’t know how to
combine those 2 programs…SDR and DRM

It looks like you could really use a AM BC high pass filter. All of those
carrier lines appear to be imaging from AM broadcast.

I am unabe to find a male mcx to male SMA adapter. Which connector or
adapter did you used to connect the dongle to the upconverter? The dongle
    has MCX isn’t it?

Hi, first I assume you have an upconverter, so you can tune to the HF
bands. Then you’ll need to obtain a full copy of a program called “virtual
audio cable”. Next, in SDR# tune to a strong DRM signal, and set the audio
out in SDR# to use the virtual audio cable. Finally, in DREAM you can then
go to Settings->Sound Card->Signal Input and choose virtual audio cable as
the device. Once that is done, play with the volume sliders until you get
    good decoding.

Thanks! I was looking for a way of using DREAM with SDR# and my HF
upconverter RTL-SDR dongle. I tried everything but USB with your filter
    settings. Javier

Thanks for the advice. There are definitely some DRM signals which I am
unable to decode because of AM carrier imaging. Maybe another solution
might be to use a tuned magnetic loop antenna?

Why is that when I use SDR Sharp, and the Dream software, it does not
decode even when I use a DRM 30 wav file to sound card from the Spark? I
think am missing something and that is a 455 kHz to 12 kHz down converter.

I live pretty close to a small airport. It would be cool to use this as an
early warning to watch planes coming in.
