I made this video cause im not good when it comes to measurements,so instead of guessing i made this video. hopefully it will help determine what type of HF antenna i can put up for Ham Radio. This video shows how much room i have to play with. Hope this helps. I used the JVC Everio Camcorder w/30gig HD,converted .MOD to .WMV using Power Director Express. KB3SKU 73 🙂

    Hi James

There are some good points to your location and some not so good points and this will impact on what is the best antenna for your circumstances.

Your roof top area looks solid enough for a small tower and beam , but unless you can get it higher than the buildings behind (not likely) you its not worth the cost or effort.

Personally I would sheet the roof top with steel sheeting which creates a ground plane and then —>

Because of those buildings behind you signals from that direction will be greatly attenuated.

There is not a lot you can do about that.

Hopefully the direction that you have a good shot at the horizon has some interesting places.

Also, use RG213 coax and keep it as short as possible to keep losses low.

If possible don’t use a antenna tuner.
