Thank you for the demo! Interesting looking vertical HF antenna!

I spoke German as a boy in the late 1950’s & early 1960’s. I lived in Wiesbaden, Germany back then. I have now forgotten most of the German language so, listening to you speaking in German gives me some practice in trying to relearn the language!

I just bought a Yaesu FT-950 a month ago, but, I live in an apartment here in Denver, Colorado and do not have much space for HF antennas!

Pros : Immune to noise, No skip zones up to 1000 km, No QSB even when moving fast, has dB gains, beats the vertical whips hands down !!! Will add more videos on the performance soon…
Cons : TX only from 3.5 Mhz to 12.5 Mhz, max 125 watts, radiating element when raised in TX position increase the height by another half meter, may not be able to go into low roof car parks.

I like this, it is very interesting, i think the word you were looking for was ground plane, thats what the antenna is using the roof rack for. I also take it that it transmits better to the left & right then it does front & back. Either way its all good.

To Johnysoutherner, Glad you like it, yup, ground plane I am sure it is…Been using it for almost 2 years now, consistent reports I got, unless propagation is really bad. As a ham, its been a pleasure to have been able to maintain good QSOs and keep me awake when driving long distrances….- de 9M2ZC
