Randy, really appreciate you digging up all this valuable information and
making a video for everyone. This is something I will put on my project
list for my Yaesu HT’s. Thanks for making the videos they always contain

With my Android phone, I can take the audio out from the jack on the phone
to go through my Easy Digi interface, but for the transmit side, I have to
hold the phone speaker up to the HT mic. Now you have me wondering if my
phone may have an audio in on the jack.

Great to see the video on Ham Nation tonight Randy. I am hoping this might
solve my problem with Ipad, it does not recognize my external lapel mics I
was hoping to use with it for doing video, I will have to try that 4.7k
resistor to ground. I only have one cheap mic that works externally with
my Ipad and Ipod, it must have the correct resistance, but my good lapels
would not work and I could not find any info online about it, I would think
others would be trying to use those mics too but no luck finding info, so I
am hoping this might be the problem! 73 and keep up the great
    work…wd0akx
