I put a link in the description to an auction for the actual auction I
purchased. Also if you enter this in your search “dual band vhf/uhf base
station” it will only show one item which is his antenna. It will have a
picture of one hanging on the eve of a house.

As far as Ground Radials, this antenna doesn’t need them and isn’t designed
for them. If you mean grounding it in case of a a lightning strike you can
put and arrester in line (i will put a link to one in the description). One
very effective and free way to stop lightning is run a 2 foot piece of
grounded wire along the coax and strip off a half inch on insulation is 3
or for places and solder the ground wire to the coax shield. It if gets hit
the lightning will in theory jump the gap…

Great video! I’d like to make a base antenna similar to this for Channel 71
on the marine band – 156.575 MHz. Any pointers?

in between the center conductor and the ground before it will travel into
you equipment. I personally haven’t worried about it, but I don’t leave my
antenna connected when I am not using it and I don’t operate when there is
a storm going on. I also have several large trees that are much higher the
    lightning would probably choose first.
