   One of my first questions is: Why does a ‘broadcast’ antenna need to be rotatable?
   Or is this just a feature left over from the array’s less-than-domestic-purpose history?

   Be interested to know about that.

    These arrays were used as antenna arrays for HF jamming applications, this is why they can be rotated. This way they could cover certain areas. Phasing control of elevation angle was also achieved. Powers used flushed parts of eastern Europe from “unfriendly” signals, such as VOA’s and RadioFreeEurope’s. The transmitters are in poor condition now, but they still work.

    First of all there is little directivity on 80 meters, is it worth doing this for a db or less?
    Mine is bigger than yours hmh?
