Installing a 30 foot Rohn 25G tower at the qth of 9Y4NG-Arnold …. Installation is done without a gin pole , as the 10ft section is light ( pse think twice before installing this way ) …….. Cecil – 9Z4CLN is in the orange coverall , and Arnold – 9Y4NG is the videographer . After receiving emails from guys who are not into installing towers, I must say — YES that I do have 2 Gin Poles , I have been installing towers for yearssssss. I have the physical strength and a lot of learnt techniques for doing an installation this way …… ROHN 25G sections are very light for me to manage this way by myself ……… I have installed a 50ft and a 40ft tower with this method.. If you must try this , practice on the ground with a 10ft section to get used to the sections weight .

The Fresno Amatuer Radio Club 2008 Field Day held at Pineridge School in Pineridge California, elevation 4843 feet. This is the raising of a portable 75 foot tower.

Was the crew boss off napping somewhere? from the camera angle that one duded looked to be being pretty close to being under the load when the tower was being raised to vertical. I doubt the trailer headache rack the tower rests on would be of much help if the line would have broken Maybe the dude was the crew boss? they can B that way. Nice trailer & tower outfit though Probably all kinds of goodies inside the enclosed trailer as well.

Me and my dad installed a yagi three elements monobander with only hand power, 25m(~80feet) up withouth any security. We set it up in a tree, using a bicycle wheel and some rope for the rotator. Good video! 73 de SM6SYC
